Pilar Stein, LCSW Psychotherapy

Pregnancy and mothering challenge and change every aspect of your emotional, physical, spiritual, and social being. Even good changes are stressful, and taking care of yourself is a vital part of motherhood. Talking with a professional alone or in the company of other mothers can help to:

  • Alleviate anxieties and fears related to pregnancy and mothering
  • Access your innate strengths, skills, and wisdom
  • Understand and integrate your changing role and identity
  • Cope with changes and conflicts in your relationships
  • Better understand your child’s development
  • Manage mood swings and other hormone changes
  • Reduce feelings of isolation and improve your support system
  • Improve your family’s communication

I provide the following services . . .

Individual or couples therapy
can help to alleviate postpartum stress and provide needed support during difficult transitions.
Mother support groups provide a safe, nurturing place to share concerns, joys, and questions with other mothers like you.
Home visits can be arranged as needed: being a mother shouldn’t prevent you from getting the support and education you need.
